ABOUT SENSEI KAREN LAMB
Sensei Karen Lamb is the owner and head instructor of the Zanshin Self Defense Academy. After several years of managing the Academy, she became the owner and head instructor in 1996. Holding a 4th degree Black Belt in Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu, she has been profiled in Action Magazine in the Women in the Martial Arts edition.
Sensei Lamb started her martial arts training September 1988 in Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu. She has also trained in Japan under Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura and has achieved his certification with the hanbo and Assayama Ichi-Den. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to continue her training with traditional Japanese weapons as well as training with many of the top instructors of our time.
In July 1996 she became the owner and head instructor of her own dojo, Zanshin Self Defense Academy. She has dedicated herself to passing all the benefits of martial arts training to her students. As a result, the academy has become one of the most successful and long running martial arts academies on Long Island.
